November 13, 2011 - Sharing the Love of Jesus
Today the focus of Happy Club was on the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child. Our church was involved in collecting these boxes of Christmas gifts for children around the world who would otherwise go without. Today, our pastor, Michael Helms, shared with the children in the 8:30 service and one of our associate pastors, Erica Cooper, shared in the 11:00 service as some of the children explored the contents of a typical shoebox. They learned how these simple gifts can help share the love of Jesus.

November 6, 2011 - Making Houses from Earth Blocks Part 2
On this first Sunday following All Saints Day on November 1, we chose to reaffirm our faith and recognize those of our church family who have died during this past year. During our 8:30 worship service, our pastor spoke to the children about "Why We Cry."
During the 11:00 a.m. worship service, the pastor chose to revisit the earth block housing that he had talked about the previous week because one of the children present had participated in the block-making on Saturday, November 5th.

October 30, 2011 - Making Houses from Dirt
Over the weekend, First Baptist Church of Jefferson, Georgia hosted a training workshop on making bricks from dirt with the hopes of carrying this technology to Liberia and Peru to build housing for families needing it. This training was sponsored by our pastor and his Bricks for Ricks Foundation. During the Sunday services, the trainer, Adam DeJong shared his testimony, and our pastor, Dr. Michael Helms, talked with the children about these special bricks.
