September 18, 2011 - The Importance of Learning to Serve

Today, in our 11:00 a.m. service, we were ordaining two men who have not previously served as deacons. Since the primary function of the deacon is to be a servant, our pastor, Dr. Michael Helms, talked with the children about the importance of learning to serve.

In the 8:30 service, one of our Associate Pastors, Rev. Erica Cooper, preached about the need to recognize the sin in our own lives even when our culture would not consider it sin. She then talked with the children about the Key to Making Right Choices.

September 11, 2011 - Those Who Run Toward Danger

On this 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 Attack, our pastor, Dr. Michael Helms, focuses on those who run toward or into danger to save us. We remember the sacrifice of so many on that day. But, we also remember the work of God through Christ Jesus, who didn't run away from the cross, but also laid down His life for us.

Due to a technical difficulty, there is no video of the 8:30 Happy Club for today.

September 4, 2011 - Celebrating Our Gifts

Using the old tale of the rabbit and the turtle (OK, the tortoise and the hare for some of you), our pastor, Dr. Michael Helms, talked with the children about celebrating and using the gifts that God has given us and consistently striving to be all that God wants for us to be in our lives.
