December 5, 2010 - Faith and Doubt
This Sunday, December 5, 2010, was the second Sunday of Advent with an emphasis on Peace. Within this theme, Dr. Michael Helms in his sermon dealt with the issue of doubt. Pastor Helms also talked to our children in Happy Club about Faith and Doubt as well. (Unfortunately, we had technical difficulties with our 11:00 a.m. club recording, so today we only have the Happy Club from the 8:30 service.)

November 7, 2010 - Sharing at Christmas
On this Sunday, we were focusing on community: we looked at the community of saints who have gone before us (All Saints Sunday), we shared in the local community of faith by celebrating communion together, and our pastor, Dr. Michael Helms talked with the children about our need to think of our worldwide community as he discussed sharing Christmas with boys and girls around the world through the ministry of Samaritan's Purse and their Operation Christmas Child.

October 24, 2010 - Overcoming Discouragement
On this Sunday, we had invited our people to bring gifts of canned goods and money for our Food Pantry. Then Pastor Michael Helms began to talk with the children about how to overcome discouragement in their lives - the subject he would also address to the congregation later in his sermon.

On this Sunday, we commissioned our new class of Stephen Ministers. With the emphasis on this service ministry, it was a great time for Dr. Helms to follow-up on the Happy Club in which he gave money to the children for them to do an Act of Kindness (see October 3, 2010 - Generosity).
